{Inventory Inspiration: Doilies}

Hi loves!  So sorry I am running behind today.  However, I have a lovely 'Inventory Inspiration' post for you to try and make up for it ;-)

I LOVE doilies.  I have a huge collection of them in my inventory.  Have a look~see at just a teeny tiny sampling of what I have...
Doilies
I love the different textures, materials, and shades of white, cream and beige.  Each and every one of them is fabulous in their own way!

Now let's have a look at our inspiration, shall we?  Here are the doilies that were used...
Inventory Inspiration
And here is how they were inspired to use them...
Inventory Inspiration
To adorn a cake table!  I'm over the moon about this darling and simple idea.  The doilies add just the perfect amount of softness to the wood table without being too much.  And I love how the detail on the cake looks like a doily.  All so fabulous, no?

{Styled: Oil Lamps}

Ahhhh Friday at last!  Yowza, what a week this has been.  Oh that's a good yowza by the way ;-)  Just busy, busy, busy.  However, I did get some great news today - my business cards for Over The Moon were mailed on Wednesday (so they should be arriving very soon), and OTM's website is going to coding in two weeks ~ WEEEEEE!  I am squealing with delight...kind of like the pig in the Geico commercial going weeeeeeee all the way home!  OMGoodness, if you haven't seen it click here...weeeeee.

Okay, now that I got that outta my system I can get to this post.  Earlier in the week I posted the 'Star of the Week' which were oil lamps.  And I also told you I would be using them in a little photo shoot of a table design that I was putting together ~ well here they are...

Not the best picture of the oil lamps ~ I know!  To see more of pictures head on over to my wedding blog, Luna and Chloe Weddings, at noon today when I will be posting a couple more pictures.

Wishing you my dears the most wonderful weekend ;-))  Hopefully you will squeal in delight yourselves this weekend!

{Styled: Chippy Paint Stool}

So yesterday, I posted the 'Star of the Week', which just so happened to be my chippy paint yellow stool.  I also told you a couple of ways in which you can use, one being for flowers and details.  Then low and behold I run across this picture last night, and knew I just had to post it today!  Have a look-see at this fabulousness...
Flowers of the Week
A gorgeous arrangement on a chippy paint stool...styling perfection, no?  Eeks, I L-O-V-E!

{Homemade: Bunting}

Last Thursday, I showed you how to make a homemade handkerchief table runner...well this week I have a 'Homemade' project for you that is just as easy ~ handkerchief bunting!  Have a look~see my dears...
Styled
It's as easy as stringing some twine, and pinning on handkerchiefs with clothespins.  Told you, easy!  And look how fabulous it is...
Styled
Oh yes, I most definitely am in L-0-V-E with this homemade project!  Aren't you?  And I must say ~ love the table and details too.

{Styled: A Small Table}

It's the perfect piece to use for your cake table...
Cake
Don't you think?  Ooh, I do.

Styling Tip:  For the photo it looks like the cake was moved all the way to the front of the table, however, nothing else is needed if you move the cake and the flowers to the center of the table.  I think it would be simply perfect!

Yet, you could also add other desserts to the table, pretty china plates and vintage forks would look lovely, and the addition of a doily or piece of lace would be fabulous as well.  Plus, a small table like this works perfectly as a welcome table, a favor table, an escort table, a guest book table...lots of options really!

{Styled: Vintage Bottles}

Absolutely one of my fave ways to style vintage bottles...
Styled
All grouped together, and with a stem or two in each!  Eeks ~ I love the variety of white flowers used here.  Just have a look-see at how pretty they are...
Styled
While I am partial to white, always have been, almost any color would look fabulous.  And you could choose to use all one color, or a variety of colors...either way they would look gorgeous.

Styling Tip:  Smaller groupings are fabulous for centerpieces too.  However, a large group looks lovely on a welcome table, an escort table, or even as a backdrop for the ceremony location.  Yet, I would love to see a cake on a tall stand with a grouping of the smaller bottles all around ~ I think that would be just over the moon!

{Styled: A Vintage Cameo}

While there are a handful of ways to incorporate a vintage cameo into a wedding, one of my favorite ways is on a bouquet!  Have a look-see at how pretty it is...
Styling
Oh so pretty!

Styling Tip - One thing to keep in mind here is that if you want the cameo to show while holding the bouquet, make sure that the person creating your bouquet leaves the stems long enough to do so!

{Styled: A Chair}

Sometimes it's as simple as adding a crown...
Vintage
Eeks ~ picture perfect, no?

Styling Tip:  While this is the picture perfect spot for a crown, it would also be the perfect spot for pictures of the bride, groom, ring pillow, bouquets, centerpieces, shoes, jewelry, favors, cake, invitations and other small details.  Also, as I said on Tuesday...I LOVE the idea of the bride and groom having their own chairs at the table, don't you?

You bet your buttons it would make sense to rent one or two chairs...for a picture like the one above ~ it would be oh so worth it.

Granted, I'm not suggesting you take pictures of all of the items listed above on the chair...then you would have a bunch of pictures of the same chair...not good.  However, taking pictures of one or two items listed above, and then using the chairs for the bride and groom at the table would not only be the perfect balance, but picture perfect too!

And one other quick tip ~ make sure you make a list for the photographer of the pictures that you really want!  This way, you won't have to try and remember on your wedding day.
